The officials are working on several projects to set up the required navigation facilities, increase the depth, and set up the jetties. This would ensure that both the cargo vessels and passengers are safe and successfully cross the journey.
Sarbananda Sonowal, the Waterways and Shipping Minister of India recently talked about this new project. He said that river and coastal shipping such as cruise services would always be their number one priority. Regarding this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji has said that the central government has taken it upon itself to develop approximately 100 national waterways.
