The Government Of Kerala Makes Masks Mandatory In Public Places

Covid-19 is nowhere to be going- as we could see the new variant going out and about. Even the people who are vaccinated are experiencing the impact of Covid-19. And now, it’s going to be all back to the same- masks! At least for Kerala!
Kerala government is all set to launch the masks in public places- given the situation and how the impact of covid has always impacted the state. Although not a mandate for long, it’s a month-long drive for months that the people of Kerala are expected to wear masks in public places. This order was issued on Jan 13 and is expected to come into immediate effect- people are wearing masks in public to combat the issues related to Covid-19.
The government is not yet explaining the reasons why they’re expecting people to wear masks or have made them compulsory but the reason is indeed the spread of Covid-19. All public places including social gatherings, workplaces and all are going to have masks compulsory. The view and perspective of the government are simple- they don’t want to take any chances. Also, the state said on the 13th that they never took away the order to not wear masks in public.

It is the best precautionary measure that every state should take- although there is no need to have any alarm. Also, India isn’t far from having an increased number of influenza cases- yes, the cases are on a rise and hence it is recommended to wear masks in public. Also, sanitizers are also exclusively being used in the public, it’s part of the hygienic measures.
Tinku Biswal, the health secretary principal also reported how the mask in public was never taken off but was considered negligible. This norm is back in force and people should follow and respect the same, also the use of sanitizers is made exclusive to the citizens of Kerala. In fact, all the checks on offices, theatres, shops, and places where people gather are taken into consideration. Although no protocols are given on social distancing, one should take personal precautions.
It was only back in august 2022, that the government extended the use of masks in public and it has remained the same since. There will also be a fine for those who aren’t following the same- the same was before the delta came into force. The government has already fought enough with the people and how the spread has increased, be it for the corona or for the influenza virus. Now, they don’t want to take risks and put people’s health in danger. This order has been released under the epidemic disease act and shall be obeyed.
What are your thoughts on this imposition? Is it going to affect the health of people around? We guess it’s best for precautionary measures.
