Orchha is a beautiful town in Madhya Pradesh, India, established by a Rajput ruler Rudra Pratap Singh. The five-century-old town lies on a Betwa river and is 80 km away from Tikamgarh and 15 km from Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh.

Orchha Fort

Rani Mahal
The Rani Mahal is a beauty adorned by beautiful artifacts, with intricate carvings and majestic paintings. Once the Mahal was the royal quarter for the wife of Raja Madhukar but was later transformed into a palace by Raghu Nath II of the Newalkar family, before converting into a museum that houses scriptures and paintings.
The insides of the Mahal are decorated with artifacts illustrating the holy epic Ramayana and are surrounded by picturesque gardens. It is built against the backdrop of the River Betwa and with exquisite architecture, making it one of the most attractive structures within the fort. Chhatris

Betwa River and Kanchana Ghat

Lakshmi Narayan Temple is a magnificent display of the architectural skills of the Bundela Dynasty, built by King Veer Singh Deo in 1622. The outer walls of the temple have window-like carvings, topped with battlements, and the upper part of the walls has some beautiful paintings. One of the most impressive paintings is Chungi Chirya, a giant bird capable of flying with an elephant in its claws. Other paintings are displaying Lord Rama and illustrated scenes from Ramayana.
